My heart grew heavy as I watched him wipe the tears from his eyes

Pride had not been an issue in that moment

Because in that moment

Nothing matter

Nothing but the love he had for her

I know I’ve cried for wolves when there were none

Merely sheep in disguise

And to you I am only a face in the crowd

Another in the sea of people who will retreat with the tide

But these feelings for you grow with each passing day

And though they may bring forth no fruit

Your memory has marked my heart

From across the room

I can feel the heat of her blood

Boiling underneath her skin from anger

Ready to erupt

And the words on the tip of her tounge

“It’s over!”

Start to choke her

Holding back the tears that will

Surely evaporate on her fiery flesh

She stays clenching to this pain

Because she loves him

But oh how his lies break her heart

Yet her pride is too strong

To ever let a man know that he hurt her

But the king of her world was only a pauper

And in the morning

If you hear on the news that my heart stopped

Just know it’s from beating too fast

Because of all the love I had for you
