Since I’m turning 21 in less than two weeks I have to renew my licence and I figured I’d do it before I go home for spring break. However, the DMV is trying to charge me $80. I’m not trying to spend $80 on a new licence especially since I’m not driving anywhere seeing as I don’t have a car on campus. I’m going to be a spoiled brat and talk to my parents and see if they can just pay it for me (in my defense this is the first time I will be asking them for money in almost a year).
I just don’t get the joke. The government sets up this system that they put an expiration date on your licence and then you have to pay a hefty charge to renew it? I didn’t ask for my licence to expire so why should I pay anything? I was expecting it to be free and when I saw there was a charge I thought it was going to be like $20. Not even in my wildest dreams did I think it was going to cost me $80. Nonsense.
